Obituary for Walter W. Parrish, Jr.
Walter W. Parrish, Jr. age 75 of Corning, NY passed away suddenly on Thursday, January 5, 2023 at his home.
Born on December 3, 1947 in Huntington, WV, he was the son of the late Walter and Bertha (Robinson) Parrish. Walter was a graduate of Dunbar High School in Lynchburg, WV. He worked as a machinist for Dresser-Rand for 43 years before his retirement.
Walter will be remembered as a very hard worker who had a great work ethic. He loved being outdoors and you could always find him outside working on various projects. He had a great passion for football, specifically for the Dallas Cowboys and NASCAR, especially Dale Earnhardt. Walter's greatest joy was family. He was a loving and devoted father and grandfather who will be missed dearly.
Walter is survived by his children: Tina Lampley of Ocala, FL, Rosemary (Arthur Williams) Brewer of Palm Coast, FL, Candice (Jason Brown) Brewer of Elmira, NY, Walter, II (Shauna) Parrish of Erin, NY, Philip (Amanda) Parrish of Corning, NY, Nicole Parrish of Palm Coast, FL; grandchildren: Jasmine and Angel Lampley, Tykwan, Shakeema and Makaylla Williams, Kyleah and Jayla Brown, Ty, Eva, Arianna, Dominic and Avianna Parrish, Myah and Mason Parrish, Jesslynn Gerow and one on the way; the mother of his children, Joyce Parrish of Palm Coast, FL; and bonus son, Brian Adams of Corning, NY.
In addition to his parents, Walter was predeceased by two special aunts; and longtime girlfriend, Deborah Brockway.
Private services will take place at the convenience of the family. Phillips Funeral Home, 17 W. Pulteney St., Corning has been entrusted with the arrangements.
