Obituary for Suzette M. Simmons
Suzette M. Simmons, age 77, of Painted Post, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, December 29, 2022, at home. She was born on December 29, 1945 in Florida, the daughter of the late Franklin and Elaine (Glover) Acomb.
Suzette graduated from Painted Post High School and was a volunteer at the Corning Salvation Army Citadel, Where she spent many years making Christmas Angels. She was known for her kindness, caring, empathy, forgiveness, and loyalty. Suzette enjoyed the time she spent with her family and working on painting and ceramics. She will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, George and Deanna Simmons of Corning and Matthew and April Simmons of Beaver Dams, grandchildren, Greg and Corbin Simmons and Elizabeth and Logan Ayers, brother Steve Acomb of Painted Post, and nephews, Frankie and Josh Acomb.
It was Suzette's wish that there be no visitation or formal service. A private burial will take place at Chapel Knoll Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing make make donations in Suzette's name to the Corning Salvation Army, 32 Denison Pkwy E, Corning, NY 14830.
