Robert G. Mapes, Jr., age 60, of Corning, New York passed away on Saturday, May 14, 2022 at home. He was born on December 3, 1961 in Corning, New York to Robert Mapes and Eileen Randall. He married Brenda Cumbia on July 8, 2011. He was a United States Navy veteran, serving his country from 1979-81.

Robert's friends and family will truly miss him. He will be remembered for his love of his football and watching NASCAR racing.

Robert is survived by wife, Brenda Mapes; one daughter: Amanda (Jerimiah) Barcey of Arizona, father and step mother: Robert and Patricia Mapes of Florida; eight grandchildren; one great grandchild; sister: Donna (Daryl) Mapes-Knickerbocker of Florida; adopted daughter: Ellen Faucett of Corning.

Robert was predeceased by his mother, Eileen Randall; son, Nathan Mapes; brother, Jerry Mapes.

A graveside service will be held at Bath National Cemetery, San Juan Ave, Bath, NY 14810 on Friday, June 3, 2022 at 1:00pm. Following the service, a Celebration of Robert's Life will be held at 78 Riverside Circle, Corning. Arrangements are entrusted to Phillips Funeral Home, Corning.
