Obituary for Robert Judson Ames
Robert Judson Ames, 71, passed away March 3, 2022 at Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA.
He was born April 22, 1950 to the late Ronald and Leila Gross Ames.
Bobby grew up in Monterey, NY, and attended school in Bradford, NY. He also attended The Monterey Baptist Church where he had many friends. He lived most of his adult life in the Corning area and spent his later years living in Montour Falls, NY.
He worked briefly on the Hollenbeck Farm in Monterey before working for Corning Glass Works at many of the plants in the Corning area.
Bobby was an avid walker, and wherever he walked he never met a stranger. Everyone knew him and would often stop to chat.
Bobby was very loving to his family and he truly loved children, and they loved him back.
Bob is survived by his sisters: Marjorie (Tom) Mar of West Hills, CA, Deirdre Decker of of Peachtree Corner, GA, Ronald (Judy) Ames of Painted Post, NY, Les Ames of Philo, OH; aunts: Francis Heichel of Addison, NY, Joanne Ames of SC, Phyllis Ames of PA and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
It was Robert's wish that no services are to take place. Phillips Funeral Home in Corning, NY has been entrusted with the arrangements.
