Reed Josiah Walrath, age 88, passed away peacefully on September 24, 2021. Reed was born on March 31, 1933 to Levi and Mavis Walrath in Canisteo, NY. He grew up in Jasper, NY. He served in the Korean Conflict and worked most of his life as a foundry manager for Ingersoll Rand. After he retired from Ingersoll Rand, he worked at Toshiba Display.
Reed enjoyed: working on cars, doing carpentry, listening to country music, the Yankees, hunting, his dogs, and his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years: Carol Lee (McChesney) Walrath; children: Victoria Walrath, Kathleen Walrath, and Thomas Walrath; grandchildren: Christopher (Heather) Walrath, Tyler Walrath, Kelsey Walrath, and Reed F. Walrath; brothers: Charles Walrath, Norman Walrath, and a multitude of nieces and nephews.
Reed was a member of the Grace Methodist Church.
His family requests that all memorial donations are sent to Bampa's House, 170 East First Street, Corning, NY. Arrangements are entrusted to Phillips Funeral Home, Corning. There will be no funeral or memorial service at the family's request.
