Obituary for Rachel Ann Hodge (O'Dell)
Rachel Ann Hodge, age 87, of Corning, New York passed away on Sunday, June 12, 2022 at home surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on September 24, 1934 in Alfred, New York to Robert and Ruth (Prentice) O'Dell. Rachel was a 1956 graduate of Northside High School. She married Ronald Hodge on December 8, 1956.
Rachel will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was fiercely devoted to her family and formed many lifelong bonds with her friends. Rachel was a fun loving person, not afraid to share her opinion, but also had a caring heart for others. She had a soft spot in her heart for animals, especially her dog Lacee, and had a wide variety of beloved pets throughout the years.
She enjoyed spending time camping, testing her luck at casinos, listening to country music, and watching westerns.
Rachel is survived by her husband of 65 years, Ronald; three children: Debbie Edmister of Corning, Cheryl (David) Quinn of Painted Post, Alan (Gail Goodrich) Hodge of Addison; sisters: Kathy Flammanger of Niagara Falls, NY, Linda Stone of Lockport, NY; grandchildren: Jeremy (Audrey) Edmister of Watkins Glen, NY, Bradley (Laura) Quinn of MD, Brian Quinn and his fiancée Neena Golden of ME, Brandon (Amanda) Hodge of Elmira Heights, NY, Cale Hodge of Painted Post, NY, Josh Goodrich of Painted Post; great-grandchildren: Natalie, Brenna, Peter, Gavin, and Owen; along with several nieces, nephews, and many special friends.
She was preceded in death by her brothers: Bill O'Dell, Bob O'Dell, Lee Emerson.
Family and friends are invited to call at Phillips Funeral Home, 17 W. Pulteney Street, Corning, NY on Saturday, June 18, 2022 from 2:00pm-4:00pm. A memorial service will immediately follow with Rev. Mort Gridley officiating.
