Obituary for Penny M. Arrison

Penny Meridith (Millard) Arrison passed away at age 77, on April 20, 2022, following an unexpected, but courageous, battle with cancer.

Penny was born on June 9, 1944, to Karl Mason Millard and Irene Mary Hamilton Millard in Corning, NY. While working fulltime and raising her family, she completed her degree in Business Administration and began a successful career at ServU Credit Union in 1984. Through her twenty-six years at ServU, she held a number of positions, and ultimately worked her way up to Vice President of Human Resources.

Following her retirement in 2010, Penny continued to stay active, volunteering in the community, knitting, gardening, and walking with her friends. Most of all, she enjoyed travelling and spending time with family. Whether she was on the softball or lacrosse field, attending shooting competitions, studying ancestry, or gathering around the kitchen table – together was the best place to be.

Penny is survived by her husband of 22 years, Pearson C Arrison; siblings: Judith (Richard) Gardiner, Timothy Millard, and Thomas Millard. She is also survived by children: Richard J (Elinor Stevens) Lewis, Kelly A (Larry) Smith, Brian C (Heidi) Lewis, Rebecca L (Richard) Lathrop, Mark Arrison; grandchildren: Daniel (Jessica) Smith, Brandon (Ashley) Smith, Marisa (Todd) Kellar, Daniel Marino, Quincy Lewis, Morgan Lewis, Kendra Jo Lathrop, Mary Ruth (Isaac) Ballard, Brooke Lewis, Megan Lewis, Emily Lathrop, Kayla Arrison, Kelsey Arrison; great grandchildren: Emily Kellar, Ella Smith, Leila Smith, Natalie Smith, Mackenzie Smith, Stephanie Smith; nephews: Gregory (Annie) Gardiner, Gerald (Maria) Gardiner, and niece, Maryanne (James) Hopkins.

Penny was predeceased by her parents Karl and Irene Millard, granddaughter Samantha McIntyre, son Jeffrey Arrison, and grandson Kyle Arrison.

Family and friends are invited to call at Phillips Funeral Home, 17 W. Pulteney Street, Corning, NY on Saturday, April 23, 2022 from 1:00-4:00pm.
