Obituary for Orlando H. "JR" Simpson, Jr.
Orlando H. "JR" Simpson, Jr., age 82 of Bath, NY passed away on Friday, October 29, 2021 at his home.
Born on July 21, 1939 in Blossburg, PA, he was the son of the late Orlando and Leah (Barrett) Simpson, Sr. He worked as a heavy diesel mechanic for Blades Construction Stone Quarry of Bath, NY for over 36 years before his retirement. JR will be remembered for his love fishing and hunting. He was a great mechanic and a hard worker who spent much of his time working on cars.
JR is survived by his children: Rosemary (Tim) Mastin, Margaret (Jerry) Smith, Cathy (Terry) Clark, Diana (Will) Dickinson, William Simpson, Patricia (Brian) Ells, Roberta (Scott) Stevens, Michelle Yarrison, Cheyanne Simpson, Brittany Kelley, Lisa Poteat; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; sisters: Martha (Alvin) Jackson and Margaret (Brian) McGee; daughter-in-law, Tina Simpson; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, JR was predeceased by his son, Marty Simpson; and siblings: Dennis Simpson, Pauline Clark and Patricia Carey.
It was JR's wish that there be no services. Phillips Funeral Home, 17 W. Pulteney St., Corning has been entrusted with the arrangements.
