Obituary for Nicholas A. Milia

Nicholas A. Milia, age 84, of Corning, passed away on Tuesday, April 5, 2022 at home. He was born on January 23, 1938 in Brooklyn, the son of the late Frank and Jenny (Cammisa) Milia. He married Frances Rice on September 27, 1958 at Fairchild Air Force Base in Spokane, Washington. She predeceased him on April 9, 2009.

Nicholas was a career veteran of the US Air Force serving in Vietnam, stationed in Thailand and he later worked at St. Joseph Hospital in Elmira, and at Sears in Horseheads, retiring from both.

He is survived by his daughters, Destinee Mattison of Corning, Theresa Brewerton of North Carolina, and Heather (Chris) Pealer of Waverly, sons, Mitchell (Charlotte) Milia of Arizona, and Mark (Kay) Milia of Painted Post, sisters, Marie Brodeur and Genevieve Cangley both of Maine, grandchildren, Brook'Lynn Brewerton, Andrew (Elisabeth) Brewerton, Magnus, Marissa, Jason, and Riis Milia, Kirsten Roberts, Jessica Milia, Tiffany and Eric Matthews, Andrew Collins and Ellis Thomas, great grandchildren, Victor Lundo, Quinton and Eris Brewerton, Jacob Matthews, and multiple nieces and nephews. Nicholas was predeceased by his siblings, Joe "Adam" Debenedetto, Marie Phillips, Frances Mitchell, Dominic Milia, and Frank Melia, his great granddaughter Serenity Lundo.

A celebration of Nicholas's life will take place at Phillips Funeral Home, 17 West Pulteney Street, Corning on Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at 10:30 am. Burial and military honors will follow at Bath National Cemetery.
