Obituary for Michael Anthony Swartz
Michael A. Swartz, age 38, of Painted Post, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, December 25, 2022 at home. He was born on February 9, 1984 in Elmira, the son of William Swartz and Teresa Bonomo.
Michael was a loving and caring, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend and he cherished the time he spent with those he loved. He was a fun guy that loved life and he would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. A former employee of Caterpillar, Michael was a skilled mechanic who liked working on cars, riding four wheelers, hunting, and fishing. He will be missed by all who knew him. Michael was know for his willingness to help anyone, anytime.
He is survived by his daughter, Haylah B. Rauber, son, Michael A. Swartz Jr., mother and step father, Teresa and Michael A. Bonomo, sister, Jessie Welch, step brother, Jason Bonomo, maternal grandparents, Leon and Linda Kosinski, nieces, Haley and Serenity Welch, nephew Peyton Bonomo, great niece, Delylah, and uncles, Wayne Swartz and Leon Kosinski III. Michael was predeceased by his father, William J. Swartz, and his paternal grandparents, Cleon and Anne Swartz.
Family and friends are invited to gather at Phillips Funeral Home, 17 W. Pulteney Street Corning, on Friday, December 30, 2022 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. A celebration of Michael's life will follow there at 7:00pm. Burial will take place at Chapel Knoll Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
