Obituary for Marion A. Seeley

Marion A. Seeley age 86 of Campbell, NY went home to the Lord on Thursday, August 12, 2021. Marion recently attended her 53rd Allen family reunion, enjoying the day with her children and family. Later she was with her family and at peace as she anticipated going home to heaven and her loved ones there.
Marion was born November 9, 1934 in Corning NY to the late Horace H. and Ann (Tiedeman) Allen. She was the oldest daughter with six older brothers and eight younger sisters. She graduated from Northside High School (NSHS) in Corning NY in 1954 and married Robert I. Seeley on August 26, 1960. They were married almost 56 years at the time of Robert’s passing in April of 2016.
Marion lived a full life. From owning a small store and gas station as a young woman, farming with Robert, raising a family, being a cub scout den mother, cleaning houses, and working as a home health aide and pursuing her passions: for gardening (she was well known for her gladioluses), raising cattle and restoring old houses with Robert, refinishing furniture, spending time with her grandchildren, and enjoying her hilltop farm and home. Her entire life was a labor of love. Marion was small in stature but mighty in spirit and known for her radiant smile and encouraging others. She was a longtime member of the Curtis Baptist Bible Church and later the Thurston Christian Church. Marion faithfully brought her children, the neighbors’ and relatives’ children, and finally her grandchildren to Sunday School. She also enjoyed spending time with friends and was active in the Thurston Senior’s group, her NSHS 54 Club, and Bone Builders.
Marion was a beloved and respected wife, mother, and grandmother. She is survived by her children: Raymond (Connie) Seeley, Dale (Kaye) Seeley, and Joseph (Michelle) Seeley all of Campbell, NY and Mary Katherine Savercool and Jo Sue (Gary) Nash both of Painted Post, NY and her grandchildren: Melissa, Zechariah, Augustus (Rachael), Jessica, Katherine, Alli, Leilani, Rin, Stephania, and Christopher.
Marion is also survived by her brother, Ed (Peg) Allen and her sisters: Barbara (Joe) Lacy, Carol Smith, Judy (Dick) Kilroy, Sue Glass, Charlotte (Lee) Swarthout, Audrey Northrup, Diana Ketchum, and many nieces and nephews.
Marion is now reunited with her parents; husband; grandson, Isaiah; her sister, Millicent Curtis; and her brothers and their spouses: Donald (Juanita) Allen, Richard (Shirley) Allen, Gilbert (Sue) Allen, and her brothers Jack and Emery Allen.
Marion, hold us now in your heart and prayers near to the heart of God just as you always have until we are all together again in heaven.
