Obituary for Juanita L. Golden (Weaver)
Juanita L. Golden, age 97, of Corning, New York passed away on Wednesday, June 8th, 2022 at Absolut Care-Three Rivers.
She was born on May 2nd, 1925 in Painted Post, New York, the daughter of the late Fred Weaver and Nettie Dunning. She was employed by the A&P for 27 years before her retirement.
Juanita excelled at gardening where she earned the nickname "Weedy". She planted hundreds of Alberta Spruce trees and ground cover on the side banks. Digging up stones and building hundreds of feet of stone walls. Juanita loved crafting, crocheting, reading and writing poetry.
Juanita is survived by her children: Carole (Dennis) Golden Cates, David W. Golden, John J. Golden and son-in-Law: Fred Grimm; grandchildren: Nestrelda (Sloane) Sims, Master Sergeant Robert Gross II, Joseph Gross, Debbie (Kurtis) Hall, Christopher Golden, Sarah Golden, Andy Golden, Jenny and Dan VanVleet; and many great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Juanita was predeceased by her husband, Walter J. Golden; daughter, Janice Golden Gross; siblings: John Weaver, Helen Weaver Borden Taft and Ruth Weaver Craig.
It was Juanita's wish that there be no services. Phillips Funeral Home, Corning NY has been entrusted with the arrangements.
