Obituary for Jonathan W. "Jon" Spears
Jonathan W. Spears, age 39 of Kingston, PA passed away on Monday, September 27, 2021 at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. Born on September 20, 1982 in Bath, NY, he was the son of Lawrence and Kathy (Soles) Spears. Jon was employed by the McLane Company, Inc.
Jon will be remembered for his joking nature - being a great prankster. He enjoyed playing and watching Resident Evil, Full Metal Alchemists and Rick and Morty. He was a great father and he and his daughter were "best buddies".
Jon is survived by his daughter, Katelyn Spears and her mother, Amanda Spears of Horseheads, NY; mother, Kathy Spears of Bath, NY; father, Lawrence (Rita) Spears, Sr. of Campbell, NY; brother, Lawrence Spears, Jr. of Savona, NY; companion, Christine Reif of Kingston, PA; many nieces, nephews and step siblings.
In addition to his parents, Jon was predeceased by his maternal grandparents; Maynard and Ila Soles; and paternal grandparents: Beatrice and Lawrence Spears.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Phillips Funeral Home, 17 W. Pulteney St., Corning, NY has been entrusted with the arrangements.
