Obituary for John P. Passmore Sr.
John P. Passmore Sr, age 80 of Painted Post, New York passed away on Thursday, July 15th, 2021 at Robert Packer Hospital.
He was born on August 25th, 1940 in Corning, NY. The son of the late Victor and Frances Passmore. John was a graduate of Painted Post High School. He married the love of his life of 61 years, the late Linda Louise Pease on May 25th, 1957. He was employed by the New York State Department of Corrections for 37 years until his retirement as the Superintendent of Willard Correctional Facility in 1997.
John greatly enjoyed talking about his childhood experiences on Irish Hill in Corning, NY. He loved his pet dog Tara, was an avid storyteller to his grandchildren and great grandchildren, was a proud Catholic, a devoted and loving husband and father, a lifetime fan of everything Notre Dame football and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
John is survived by Kathleen MacAuley, John (Marianne) Passmore, Susan (Gerald) Grapevine, Marylynne (Stephen) Crouch and William (Reba) Passmore. He is survived by 17 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph's Church in Campbell on Tuesday July 20th at 10:00 AM . Burial will follow at the family plot at Fairview Cemetery in Painted Post.
