Gladys Patricia Crooker, age 87 of Campbell, NY went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 9, 2022. Born May 27, 1935 in Coopers Plains, New York to the late Milton and Doris Cole.
Gladys was a graduate of Campbell Savona, Class of 1954. She married Richard H. Crooker on October 23, 1954. They celebrated their love with 68 years of marriage. She drove school bus for Campbell Savona School. In her 27 years she has touched so many children's hearts. Gladys spent her life devoted to her family and friends. You could always find her watching her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren at sporting events. Her love and passions were Crooker's Beauty Salon and traveling. Throughout her traveling adventures she had visited every state except one and made many wonderful friends. She had a love for country and bluegrass music. She always found time to sew, cook, and play cards. She made sure to pass down her knowledge and skill of sewing and cooking to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Whether knitting, crocheting, or sewing many outfits were made with love.
In her retirement years she loved to spend the winters in Arizona and in their Bushnell Florida Home.
Gladys is survived by her loving husband, Richard; children: Doreen (Robert) Williams of Tinmouth, Vermont, Richard (Joanne) Crooker Jr. of Litchfield, New Hampshire, Alan (Dolores) Crooker of Savona, New York, Josephine (Wayne) Metarko of Addison, New York; grandchildren: Bobbi Jean (Michael) Raiche, Christopher (Alyssa) Williams, Jesse (Sarah) Williams, Greg (Heidi) Crooker, Kreg Crooker, Amanda (Chad) Atkinson, and Ashley (Jared) Fentz; 21 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; brother, Wayne (Deanna) Cole; sister, Jane (Roland) French; special friends: Margret Louks, Connie Morse, Deirdre Decker; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Gladys was predeceased by sisters: Beverly Reed and Marcia Ketchum; and step-brother, Phillip Card.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 16, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Elmwood Cemetery in Caton, Pastor Veronica Seeley officiating. Phillips Funeral Home, 17 W. Pulteney St., Corning has been entrusted with the arrangements.
