Obituary for Gerry Lou Carman

Gerry Lou Carman, age 80 of Corning, New York passed away on Friday, December 17, 2021 at Corning Center for Rehabilitation. She was born on November 24, 1941 in Elmira, New York to Andrew and Marion (Smith) VanEtten.

Gerry deeply loved her family and friends. She was a social butterfly, always with a smile on her face. Her door was always open to share a hot coffee and a slamburger. She looked forward to seeing her grandchildren, or the "little people" as she affectionately called them.

Gerry is survived by four children: Mick (Cynthia) Foley of Corning, Brenda (Michael) Smith of Corning, Susan (Kevin) Vine of Corning, Tammy Foley of Corning; grandchildren: Andrew (Ashley) Foley, Danielle (James) Langlands, Ryan (Debbie) Smith, Kyle (Racheal Horton) Smith, Megan (Josh) Ribble, CJ Vine, Dustin (Kaitlyn) Cyrczak, Dillon Cyrczak; seven great grandchildren; siblings: Larry VanEtten, Andrew VanEtten, Sharon Carey, Renee McCann.

In addition to her parents, Gerry was predeceased by her husband, Earl Carman; sister ,Marylin Danaher.

Due to Covid-19 the family will hold a private burial in Rural Home Cemetery in Big Flats. Arrangements are entrusted to Phillips Funeral Home, Corning.

As Gerry always said before the end of a night spent together - "Love You, Gobbless."
