Obituary for Francis C. Woodring
Francis Woodring, age 93, of Lindley, New York passed away on Thursday, February 9th, 2023 at his home.
He was born on July 2nd, 1929 in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Stanley Woodring and Selina LaVelle. Francis was a graduate of Kane University in New Jersey. He married the love of his life, Fran Tempel, on May 28th, 1987. He was employed by Becton-Dickinson for 22 years before his retirement in 1991.
Francis volunteered his time at many local agencies in the Lindley area including Meals on Wheels in Corning, Pantry of Angels in Lindley, The Corning Library, and spent time on the Planning Board for the Town of Lindley.
Francis is survived by his spouse, Fran Tempel; children: Kevin (Gail) Woodring, Theresa Woodring, Corey (Andrea) Woodring, and Kathryn (Jimmy) Teel; nine grandchildren; siblings: Beverly Higgins, Richard (Nancy) Woodring, and Gerard Woodring; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Francis was predeceased by his sister, Selina Neunert.
Services will take place at the convenience of the family. Phillips Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 17 W. Pulteney St., Corning has been entrusted with the arrangements.
