Obituary for Donald L. Millhollen
Donald L. Millhollen, age 82, of Painted Post, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center. He was born on May 9, 1940 in Tyrone, NY, the son of the late James W. and Pearl (Emery) Millhollen. He married Bernita Ella Wilson on June 26, 1965. She predeceased him on October 31, 2011.
Don loved his family and was devoted to his grandchildren. He was active in the Saturday Morning Youth Bowling League since 1976, he enjoyed playing Bridge, and he was a member of the Corning Painted Post Sports Hall of Fame. Don graduated from Alfred University with a Bachelors' Degree in Engineering. He was a veteran of the US Navy and he retired from Corning Inc as a Senior Scientist for Thermal Properties.
He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Eric and April Millhollen and Greg and Carrie Millhollen all of Lindley, grandchildren, Sierra Briggs, Brittney Millhollen, Hanna Millhollen, Michael Millhollen, and Matthew Millhollen, brother, William (David Foster) Millhollen of Waverly, sister, Mary Ann (Richard) Williams of Virginia, along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Don was predeceased by his sister, Sandra Pozzi.
Family and friends are invited to call at Phillips Funeral Home, 17 W. Pulteney Street, Corning, on Tuesday, May 31, 2022 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm. A celebration of Don's life will follow there at 6:00 pm. Burial will take place on Wednesday at 11:00 am at Addison Rural Cemetery.
