Obituary for David J. Streeten

David J. Streeten, age 38 of Allen, TX and formerly of Corning, NY passed away on Monday, April 3, 2023.

Born on January 22, 1985 in Corning, NY, he was the son of Robert Streeten (Suzanne Streeten) and Diane Tammaro (Philip Tammaro). David was a graduate of Corning East High School, class of 2003. He then went on to study at SUNY Binghamton, graduating in 2008 with a degree in English and Creative Writing. After graduating college, David worked a number of coaching jobs at the collegiate level. He was most recently employed as a lacrosse coach for the Allen High School Lacrosse Association in Allen, TX the past 8 years. He also coached for the Iron Horse travel program, ran his own lacrosse lessons on the side to teach kids the game he loved, and was the pioneer of box lacrosse in Allen, TX. He loved passing on his knowledge and passion for the game to all of the kids he had the privilege of coaching.

David will be remembered for his love for music and concerts, storytelling, movie recommendations, travelling all over the world, and of course, anything lacrosse. David made friends anywhere he went and had an uncanny ability to remember people, dates, and stats.

David is survived by his parents: Robert Streeten (Suzanne Streeten) and Diane Tammaro (Philip Tammaro); his brother, Duncan Streeten (Becca Streeten); and his nephew Palmer Streeten.

David was predeceased by his grandparents: David Henry Palmer Streeten, Barbara Ann Streeten, Janet Marie Bonnell, and Donald Thomas Bonnell.

David’s family would like to thank the entire Allen Lacrosse Community and his dear friend Coach Nick Blumer for their love and support over the last 8 years.

Family and friends are invited to visitation on Friday, April 14, 2023, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm and 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Phillips Funeral Home, 17 W. Pulteney St., Corning, NY. A Celebration of Life will take place at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, a scholarship fund is being set-up and donations will be accepted. Those who wish to donate, can visit: https://www.gofundme.com/f/david-joseph-streeten
