Obituary for Albert L. "Al" Elliott

Albert L. Elliott, age 67 of Painted Post , New York passed peacefully at his home on Sunday, July 25th, 2021.

He was born on April 2nd, 1954 in Montour Falls, New York to the late Charles and Alberta Elliott. Later he went on to marry the love of his life Maylonda (Gerow) Elliott on March 2nd, 1974. He worked as a construction foreman for R.C. Billings in Bath, NY until 1993 when he and his wife had acquired the family business Gerow's Grocery, that is still open to this day. Then in 1997 Albert, Maylonda, and many dear friends and family, built from the ground up, The Country Pub II. Opening in January of 1998 together they ran another successful business for over 20 years, until June of 2018 when they sold and retired.

Albert was known for liking to have fun, sometimes too much, and could have been considered a bit of a hell-raiser in his younger years. If you came to the pub, you knew where his spot at the bar was, and anyone who entered through the doors as a friend, left as family. He was an avid sportsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and the great outdoors. Another thing Albert really enjoyed was watching Nascar. He was a huge Dale Earnhardt fan. But what he truly loved the most was spending time at his winter home in Florida with his wife and furry son "MAX"

He is survived by his Loving wife of 47 years Maylonda, and two daughters Kristi Elliott, and Brandi (Michael) Meadows. He will be dearly missed by his grandchildren Kasey Fisher, Owen Meadows, and Cole Meadows. He is also leaving behind his brother Francis Elliott and many nieces and nephews.

Besides Albert's parents he was predeceased by his two sisters Flossie Elliott and Debora Scranton.

It was Albert's wishes that there be no services. All friends and family are welcomed to attend a Celebration of Life to be held at the East Campbell Fire Department on Saturday, August 14th, 2021 from 2 pm until it ends.

Phillips Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 17 W. Pulteney St., Corning has been entrusted with the arrangements.
